Fundación de Parques y Museos de Cozumel

The Fundación de Parques y Museos de Cozumel, is a public and decentralized organism from state gobernament, created with the purpose to safe keep the islands historic, cultural and natural patrimony. The Fundacion of the Cozumeleños is administered in a sustainable manner. Income is transformed into the development of social and cultural programs for the community.

We administrate Chankanaab Natural Park, Punta Sur Eco Beach Park (a natural state reserve that shelters the most representative ecosystems of the island), San Gervasio Mayan Archeological site, the Cozumel Museum (under renovations till 2020) and the Library Plane Gervasio (that is a digital learning space for the community).

All resources generated from the parks are given back through actions and programs that promote art, culture, environment conservations, education, and social development in which children and adults of all ages participate. Every time someone purchases a ticket to enter one of the parks, they are investing in the future development of our community.

Currently we offer over 16 artistic and cultural workshops, we award 550 scholarships to students of all educational levels, we count with 12 permanent programs of conservation and environmental awareness, being pioner in sea turtle proteccion and beach cleaning for over 30 years. We are the primeraly art promoter through the Extra Mural Museum, reaching the comunity to enjoy the arts in public spaces.
